The holiday home is located outside Buchenberg, on a hill with a fantastic view of the mountains towards the Zugspitze. It is in an absolutely quiet location, surrounded by meadows and forests.
The municipality of Buchenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1275. Since 1987, the village has been a "state-recognised climatic health resort". In addition to the main town, Buchenberg consists of around 50 districts, including Kreuzthal, Eschach, Masers, Ahegg and Wirlings. Around 4000 inhabitants live here.
In the western Allgäu, the Allgäu Pre-Alps rise in a quadrangle between the towns of Kempten, Isny, Oberstaufen and Immenstadt (each approx. 25-30 km apart). This low mountain landscape is characterised by small valleys, pasture farming and forested ridges (approx. 1000-1250 m high), which form a charming contrast to the much higher, rocky peaks of the adjoining Allgäu Alps to the south.
Our comfortable holiday home is a former farm located just outside Buchenberg, near Kempten in the Allgäu. Situated on a hill, the location offers a fantastic view into the mountains to the Zugspitze. The location is perfect to rest for a few days and is an ideal starting point for excursions to experience the beautiful Allgäu up close.
The village of Buchenberg is surrounded by meadows and forests and lies at an altitude of approx. 1,000 m above sea level in the so-called pre-alpine hill and moorland. From the house you can see the "Herrenwieser Weiher", a small natural lake, which invites you to swim and sunbathe in summer. The "Eschacher Weiher", about 4 km away, delights naturist fans. Kempten is also only a stone's throw away, the town centre can be reached by car in about 10-15 minutes.
The municipality of Buchenberg has held the title of "state-recognised climatic health resort" since 1987, which is why a stay with us is not only for recreation but also for health.
Buchenberg has a warm and temperate climate. There is significant precipitation throughout the year, so a snowy winter is almost certain. Buchenberg has an annual average temperature of 7.3 °C. On average, 1101 mm of precipitation falls within a year.
We make our contribution to climate protection in the form of renewable energy generation. Since 2010, we have been generating our electricity from solar energy, more than we consume ourselves. In addition, a significant part of our heating energy has been generated by solar collectors since 2015. In addition, the house has been heated with pellets since 2016. In 2017, it was upgraded with full thermal insulation.
